HPC Addis

Welcome to the "new" Addis HPC. We have changed the way the servers are organized in order to standardize the computing environment and optimize resource usage. This brings the servers more in line with the model used on the Nairobi HPC cluster, with a major goal being to share resources more fairly and efficiently among our users.

Over the course of the next year we hope to bring more improvements to the cluster as time and resources allow.

Summary of Changes

Accessing the Servers

From outside ILRI Addis you must now access the servers via hpc-addis.ilri.cgiar.org.

This is the new "head" or "login" server. After logging into the head node you can continue working as you always have, by logging into redjunglefowl or monster via SSH:

From inside ILRI Addis you can access the servers directly as you are used to, or via hpc-addis.ilri.cgiar.org.

Note: It is no longer possible to access redjunglefowl.ilri.cgiar.org directly from outside ILRI Addis. Please update your SSH clients and bookmarks.
